About Me

For over 38 years as a psychotherapist, I have integrated psychological, spiritual and intuitive insights and skills into my work to support thousands of individuals/couples to transform and find emotional and mental peace and well-being, and create positive solutions to various life challenges. Traditional and spiritual counseling were always the two wings of my private practice.

I recently retired as an LICSW so that I can embrace and focus solely on the branch of my work, spiritual guidance, counseling and teaching. My counseling style of collaborating with clients invites you to open to your own deeper clarity, wisdom, and guidance for your choices, as well as I encourage and support you to establish a more gentle, loving attitude, and inner voices in which to think and care about yourself and any situations/challenges you might be experiencing.

I bring years of various studies to my approach from psychotherapy, Sufism, meditation, and positive psychology as noted below. With over 30 years of experience as a teacher, I have taught both in person and, more recently, virtually.

For the past 27 years, I have studied, practiced and become a teacher/minister of Shadhdhuliyyah Sufism. Some of what I’ve learned from this path which illuminates daily living, wisdom and counseling are about: divine insight, guidance, love, peace, mercy, beauty, patience, trust, surrender and deep acceptance, gentle leniency and understanding of our humanity. It’s from understanding and letting yourself have this acceptance and mercy that everyone can open to a deeper truth of who they really are underneath our personalities—our heart, soul and spirit. This place inside everyone is where our creativity, inspiration, guidance, strength and vast capabilities lives. Connecting and allowing this place to blossom and be trusted, helps all of us walk through life choices, decisions, etc. and relax into greater emotional well-being, certainty and contentment.

For 8 years, I have also studied Mindfulness Meditation and Positive Psychology and that knowledge can be beneficial as well.
